How Did I Become a Fener Fan?
In college I studied abroad in Greece and Turkey. I fell in love with Istanbul, which is not hard to do. One day in the Grand Bazaar this nice gentleman came up to my friends and me to show us his rugs. He served us apple tea (yeah, I know it's a tourist thing) and quickly started telling us about Fenerbahçe. He had Fener decorations at his shop and told us about the game coming up this weekend. He said we should go, they are amazing.
We said fuck it and decided to go. We took the ferry over to Asia, bought tickets at some random booth, and sat in the 2nd level cheering section behind the goal. It absolutely blew me away. I had never seen the passion and energy anywhere else in the world. From the dude who didn't even watch the game and just led the cheers the entire game, to the tens of thousands of fans who had coordinated cheers for everything. Fener ended up winning 3-0 against Gençlerbirliği and I saw Alex, Anelka, Rustu, and Tuncay play. Came back to the US and started following them religiously, and the rest is history.
Favorite Fener Moment?
Hard to pick one but that 2012-13 run in the Europa League was magical. Making it to the semifinals leading into the second leg was insane. I watched it in NYC at a soccer bar with a bunch of Fener fans.

2019.06.21 01:06 vroom918 WWC Knockout Stage (GW4-6) - Rant & Info Thread

Thanks everyone for sticking with me through the end! I've decided to combine all of the knockout round into a single rant & info thread, so this will be the last post that I make for the Women's World Cup 😢. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching, researching, and playing fantasy and I hope everyone else had as great of a time as I have!
As for rules, you get 5 free transfers and a budget bump to $8.5m for next round, then 4 free transfers and a $9m budget for round 5, and finally 3 free transfers and a budget of $9.5m for the final round (which includes the semi finals, final, and 3rd place match! Don't worry though, you can't have anyone you picked eliminated mid-round, so think of it as a DGW of sorts). Additionally, points will be awarded for penalty shootouts! Penalties scored during a shootout will be worth 3 points for the taker, and a keeper also gets 3 points for a penalty save. I'm not sure how useful this is for our planning, but it certainly increases the luck aspect of the game.
As before, this is the place to get all your info about lineups, points, and so on. If you missed the megathread that I posted, check it out here! There's lots of good info and discussion about players and predicted lineups, so this is the pace to complain about everyone being wrong 🙃. You may also be interested in my comment on the previous rant thread which explores the initial knockout stage matchups and picks

SHEPLAYS DREAM TEAM

The 11 best total scorers in formation. Look for the ⭐ to see which players are on the dream team! ⭐s are "snapshotted" so if a player has one at the end of the GW then they'll keep it in the lineup and best XI for that week. In case players are tied on total points, the players' prices are used for tiebreakers (lowest price wins).
Fun fact #1: Majri, Gwinn, Kerr, and Lawrence are the only players to score at least 10 points in every group stage round. Only Gwinn and Majri have maintained that record into the knockout stage, but both had their streaks broken with knockouts during the quater-finals!
Fun fact #1.5: Ellen White is the only player to score 10 or more points with every appearance. The reason she isn't included in the above statistic is because she was benched for GW2, which is why she's struggled to make it into the dream team (although after the semis she's only 1 point off Kerr).
Fun fact #2: The highest attacking bonus points awarded for this competition went to Caroline Graham Hansen in GW4 with a stunning 13 points! This is even more impressive given that it was uncertain whether she'd play after a heavy knock and was playing with a bandaged ankle. Despite this, she played a full 120', came close to scoring multiple times, and drained her penalty with ease in the shootout!

2019.06.16 22:16 vroom918 WWC Group Stage Day 3/3 - Rant & Info Thread

In this special edition of the WWC Rant & Info thread, I've put info on how teams can qualify for the knockout stage as a placeholder for lineups. I can't say that the info is 100% accurate because of how third place teams can qualify but I think I got it right. I'm mostly focusing on what teams can do to guarantee their advancement, and if they can't guarantee it then it depends on the results of other teams. We have 9 teams that are guaranteed advancement, so watch out for rotation on those teams. We've already seen a lot in this tournament (especially from the US), so be prepared!
Also, the transfer window is now open until the the start of the game tomorrow and there's a RULE CHANGE! You now have 2 free transfers, and additional transfers will cost 5 point instead of 10. Go crazy!
As before, this is the place to get all your info about lineups, points, and so on. If you missed the megathread that I posted, check it out here! There's lots of good info and discussion about players and predicted lineups, so this is the pace to complain about everyone being wrong 🙃

SHEPLAYS DREAM TEAM

The 11 best total scorers in formation. Look for the ⭐ to see which players are on the dream team!
Fun fact #1: Majri, Gwinn, Kerr, and Lawrence are the only players to have scored at least 10 points in each group stage round. However, Lawrence misses out on the group stage dream team by 2 points!
Fun fact #2: In each of Jamaica's group stage games, a central striker scored at least 3 goals (ok, Girelli isn't quite the team's central striker, but it's close enough and she often plays a striker so I'll give it to her).

I'll add more info as appropriate. If there's something you think should be included here, feel free to comment or PM me!
Note: Lineups are according to data available on https://soccerway.com. Also, due to annoying copyright stuff, I'm now just linking to the /soccer post for the goals instead of streamable links which are getting taken down. You figure it out from there
Also, sorry if some info disappears, I've edited this both on mobile and in the browser but forgot to refresh in between so I submitted edits to an older version and overwrote some stuff (mostly the knockout seeding)

2019.06.12 07:33 vroom918 WWC Group Stage Day 2/3 - Rant & Info Thread

What a crazy GW1, with the USA setting an incredible record and hogging 7 spots on the dream team! We also saw some new OOP stars show up, with Gwinn and Bonansea leading their teams to victory from more advanced positions. Don't forget about your UNLIMITED FREE TRANSFERS for this round! ShePlays had a bug which messed up some teams and offered the free transfers as consolation, so you might need them just to get your team back to where it was.
As before, this is the place to get all your info about lineups, points, and so on. If you missed the megathread that I posted, check it out here! There's lots of good info and discussion about players and predicted lineups, so this is the pace to complain about everyone being wrong 🙃

Zuri Benitez has pride. Brooklyn pride, family pride, and pride in her Afro-Latino roots. But pride might not be enough to save her rapidly gentrifying neighborhood from becoming unrecognizable.
When the wealthy Darcy family moves in across the street, Zuri wants nothing to do with their two teenage sons, even as her older sister, Janae, starts to fall for the charming Ainsley. She especially can’t stand the judgmental and arrogant Darius. Yet as Zuri and Darius are forced to find common ground, their initial dislike shifts into an unexpected understanding.
But with four wild sisters pulling her in different directions, cute boy Warren vying for her attention, and college applications hovering on the horizon, Zuri fights to find her place in Bushwick’s changing landscape, or lose it all.

2017.11.23 17:38 putcoolusernamehere USMNT Player Pool Breakdown- Striker

The Candidates
Rogelio Funes Mori (Monterrey, 26): he’s scored 55 goals in 100 games for Monterrey. He spent 7 years of his childhood in the USA, even participating in FC Dallas’ youth academy. While his twin Ramiro is cap tied to Argentina, Rogelio only appeared in friendlies. With players like Dybala, Higuain, and Messi keeping him from making further Argentine appearances, he should be called in for the US. He would be a game changer.
Bobby Wood (Hamburg, 24): he needs to leave the hell hole that is Hamburg. Perhaps a move back to the 2. Bundesliga, where he could bang in goals and refind his confidence, would be smart.
Jordan Siebatcheu (Stade de Reims, 21): the French-American was Ligue 2 player of the month in October. He’ll almost certainly be playing in Ligue 1 next season, rather with a promoted Reims, or a new club that snatches him. He’s a dynamic target forward who can make us forget Jozy Altidore every existed.
Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC, 27): I’d like to see Jozy Altidore mozy out the door, but he’ll probably stay around the team due to lack of other options.
Josh Sargent (Werder Bremen, 17): the youth standout will sign with Werder Bremen when he turns 18. I think he has what it takes to make it there, and should begin to be integrated with the NT now.
Tim Weah (PSG. 17): Weah’s hat trick opened eyes at the U-17 World Cup. The Brazilian NT recently trained at PSG’s facilities, and requested Weah as one of 5 PSG youth players to join the training session. He’s set his sights on the first team at PSG, which I though was a bit unrealistic, but apparently he’s one of the players Unai Emery may call up for depth. When he does break through at PSG, he will be one of the first names on the US team sheet.
Christian Ramirez (Minnesota United, 26): he’s one of the best poachers in MLS. He simply has a knack for scoring goals, no matter what level he’s playing at.
C.J. Sapong (Philadelphia Union, 28): the Union’s target man played well against Portugal, but his age and other prospects coming up will keep him from being a major factor going forward.
Dom Dwyer (Orlando City, 27): the hard working English-American needs to rediscover his goalscoring form at Orlando City.
Aron Johannsson (Werder Bremen, 27): the Icelander-American he’s got a clean slate with a new manager at Bremen. Hopefully he can get game time and rediscover the excellent form he had leading up to the 2014 World Cup at AZ.
Andrija Novakovich (Telstar, 21): the Serbian-American Reading loanee has 8 goals and 3 assists in 14 appearances for Telstar.. He’ll certainly be on Jaap Stam’s radar when he gets back to his parent club, especially with no one Reading player having more than 3 goals this season.
Juan Agudelo (New England Revolution, 24): he’s played well in sporadic US chances, and played ok for the Revolution. I don’t think he’ll become the player we all hoped he’d be when he made his USMNT debut at 17.
Andrew Wooten (Sandhausen, 27): Haji Wright has played more for Sandhausen than Wooten. He might be injured, but I can’t find any info on it. Wooten played really well last year, and hopefully he can get back to that.
The Prospects
Haji Wright (Sandhausen, 19): the Schalke loanee has only one goal in 10 appearances (he’s averaging 46 minutes per appearance). Obviously the manager sees something in him to continue to give him game time, but he needs to step it up and contribute more goals.
Emmanuel Sabbi (Hobro, 19): Sabbi is getting game time in the Danish Superligaen, which is impressive for someone so young. If the goals start coming, he’ll get himself on the radar of much bigger European clubs. He’s in a much better place than most 19 year old Americans (NCAA).
Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders, 23): he contributed very little in terms of goals this MLS season. He scored a great tournament winning goal in the Gold Cup this year, but he’s done little at the club level to warrant further involvement. He should’ve gone to Europe when he had the chance.
Izzy Tandir (Sloboda Tuzla, 22): the giant former Red Bull Academy striker is starting to find his footing is Bosnia, with 17 starts and 3 goals. While the return isn’t what you’d want, he must be doing something right to continue to get starts.
Shawn Parker (Augsburg, 24): the German-American desperately needs a move for game time. Possibly to a lower 2. Bundesliga club, or somewhere abroad.
Isaiah Young (Werder Bremen II, 19): he’s regularly featuring as a substitute in the 3. Liga, even scoring a goal.
Maki Tall (Tours, 21): Siebatcheu is stealing the headlines, but the Tours forward is also getting regular appearances in Ligue 2.
Rubio Rubin (Stabaek, 21): the US U-20 international is getting more game time at Stabaek, but has yet to net. He failed to take the opportunity when transfers opened the door at Utrecht, and is beginning to work his way back up.
Terrence Boyd (Darmstadt, 26): the injury riddled German-American is finally fit, but he’s not getting anything more than substitute apperances at Darmstadt.
Jeremy Ebobisse (Portland Timbers, 20): Ebobisse, Gedion Zelalem’s high school teammate, the first pick in the Super Draft, hasn’t lived up to the hype in his first MLS season. The French-American needs to work hard in the offseason to earn more game time in MLS.
Uvaldo Luna (Atlas, 23): the Mexican-American Tigres loanee made 7 Liga MX appearances with Atlas this season.
Solid Careers
Aaron Schoenfeld (Maccabi Tel Aviv, 27)
Kyrian Nwabueze (ND Gorica, 25)
Luis Silva (Real Salt Lake, 29)
Erik Hurtado (Vancouver Whitecaps, 26)
Will Bruin (Seattle Sounders, 28)
Christian Eissele (FF Jaro, 25)
Felix de Bona (Ekenas IF, 24)
Quincy Amarikwa (San Jose Earthquakes, 30)
Patrick Mullins (D.C. United, 25)
Robert Kristo (VFL Osnabrück, 24)
Teal Bunbury (New England Revolution, 27)
Danijal Brkovic (unattached, 26)
Chandler Hoffman (Real Monarchs, 27)
Kharlton Belmar (Swope Park Rangers, 24)
Andrew Stadler (Dalkurd, 29)
Jon-Paul Pittman (Torquay United, 31)
Jamie Reid (Torquay United, 23)
The Long-Term Future
Konrad de la Fuente (Barcelona, 16): he’s playing up an age group at La Masia and is still shining against the older competition. The Miami-born forward could become the first American to play for Barcelona’s senior team sometime in the next few years.
Giovanni Reyna (NYC FC, 15): Claduio Reyna’s son has been impressing with US youth teams.
Aziel Jackson (Toulouse, 16): the former Red Bull Academy man is now with Toulouse in France. His excellent, creatively improvised finishes are fitting for the son of a jazz musician.
Brandon Vasquez (Atlanta United, 19): Vasquez has been a regular on the bench since joining Atlanta United from Tijuana.
Julian Gaines (Lonestar SC, 15): McKinze’s younger brother may end up being the better of the two. He’s been on trial with Wolfsburg, his brother’s former club, where he impressed playing with the U-16’s.
Bryan Reynolds Jr. (FC Dallas, 16): FC Dallas’ youngest youth player has yet to make his first team debut, but is highly rated by both FC Dallas and John Hackworth.
Jesus Ferreira (FC Dallas, 16): the Colombian-American showcase his potential by scoring a goal in his MLS debut. Look for him to continue to develop at the best academy in the United States, as he competes with Reynolds Jr. for opportunities with the first team.
Jack McBean (LA Galaxy, 22): McBean had a loan at Coventry, and has gotten more MLS game time since returning. He may need to leave the Galaxy if he wants to be a starter.
Maurice Malone (Augsburg, 17): the German-American has 4 goals and 2 assists in the U-19 Bundesliga, and is a German U-17 International.
Justin Butler (Bayern Munich, 16): the German-American has 4 goals and 3 assists in the U-17 Bundesliga, and has made 2 UEFA Youth League appearances.
Alfonso Ocampo-Chaves (Seattle Sounders, 15): he was one of the youngest USL players this season with S2.
Jon Bakero (Wake Forest, 21): he was hands down the best NCAA player this season. I’m not sure he has U.S. citizenship, but it’s listed that he does on Soccerway. Hopefully he’ll develop into as good of a pro as he is a college player.
Irgins Borici (KF Vllaznia, 17): the youngster is playing up two age groups at one of Albania’s best clubs.
Jake Barros (Rio Ave, 21): the former UAlbany striker moved to Portugal, where he plays with first division club Rio Ave’s 2nd team, where he has made 2 appearances.
William Sands (NYC FC, 17): James Sands brother is the less hyped of the two prospects, but he’s been involved with the U-17 team, and is highly rated at NYC FC.
Mario Rodriguez (Sonnenhof Grossaspach, 23): he needs to get more game time. Hopefully he can break through in the 3. Bundesliga.
Victor Fundi (Crystal Palace, 20): the young striker is with Crystal Palace’s U-23 squad.
Alonzo Hernandez (Monterrey, 23): Hernandez is 23, and has yet to get regular game time with Monterrey.
Bradford Jamieson IV (LA Galaxy, 21): Jamieson is reaching the age where he needs to starting living up to his potential.
Nasuhi-Noah Jones (Red Bull Leipzig, 15): he’s a German-American is Red Bull Leipzig’s youth academy.
Jordan Dorr (Vikt. Griesheim, 18): the former Darmstadt forward has made 11 5th division appearances, but has yet to score a goal. Still better than the NCAA.
Nicolas Garcia-Morillo (Harvard, 17): screw Harvard for stealing this promising young Spanish-American striker away from Atletico Madrid. NCAA is where promising young soccer careers go to die.
Dylan Alexis Romney (Paris FC 21): the French-American who spent time in Inter’s Academy is getting some play time with Paris FC B.
Ben Spencer (Toronto FC, 22): the former Molde striker hasn’t got much game time for Toronto FC.
Emmanuel Clinton Williams (Hombruch, 16): the 16 year old Angolan-German-American plays for his club’s U-17 squad, scoring a goal in 5 appearances.
Andrei Suciu (CS Balotesti, 19): he’s getting game time the Romanian second division.
Anthony Wright (Nottingham Forest, 20): he doesn’t seem to be making progress towards the first team at Nottingham Forest
Nana Akosah-Bempah (Cape Town City, 20): the 20 year old Ghanaian-American is starting to breakthrough in the ASBA Premiership in South Africa.
John Gallagher (Notre Dame, 21): he’ll likely be a high pick in this year’s MLS Super Draft.
The Past
Charlie Davies (Philadelphia Union, 31): what could’ve been…
Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes, 80): Wondo missed a tap to win against Belgium, but yet keeps finding his way on to squads for some reason. Short of reapointing Jurgen, I don’t see any scenario in which he gets another call up.
Alan Gordon (LA Galaxy, 36): the MLS super-sub was never effective in that role for the NT.

2017.06.09 16:33 TedBoyMarino League Roundup: Brasileiro Série A, Fixture 5 [Cavalinhos do Fantástico]

Brazil

Brasileiro Série A

Last week's roundup
With this mid-week fixture starting on a tuesday, we had Serie A games almost an entire week straight, from last saturday to yesterday. No 0-0 draws and two games with at least seven goals scored meant lots of balls in the back of the net.

This is Brasileirão Série A.

Matches, clips from the goals and a short, very non-neutral analysis are all below. Hope you enjoy :)

Fixtures

All times shown in BRT. BRT is three hours behind GMT.
Tue 06/06/17 20h Maracanã
Fluminense 1 - 1 Atlético Paranaense
8' Pablo Felipe
Reginaldo 33'
We start off the fixture with the only Rio club that got points in its match. It was also the first game in this Serie A season where league's top scorer Henrique Dourado did not score a goal. Six goals in five matches is still a crazy mark.
Wed 07/06/17 19h30 Independência
Atlético Mineiro 1 - 0 Avaí
Fred 16'
Finally, a win for one of the favorites for the title. They're still quite far behind the leaders but now the catch-up can begin. This game also marked the debut of "Sexiest Man Alive" Valdívia for the Galo.
Wed 07/06/17 19h30 Pacaembu
Santos 1 - 0 Botafogo
Victor Ferraz 90'+6
Apparently this is the fixture of stupid missed goals as Matheus Ribeiro adds his contribuition. It ended up costing his team, as a free-kick in the last minutes gave Santos the win.
Wed 07/06/17 19h30 Couto Pereira
Coritiba 1 - 0 Palmeiras
Matheus Galdezani 51'
Palmeiras has been playing really bad since the start of the league. It's a team with the budget and the squad to be a top contender but is just over the relegation zone, with four points in five games. They have a lot of mouths to shut up in the next games.
Also, Coritiba could've won this game 2-0 if Iago Dias didn't miss this clear chance. This is not the kind of goal a professional can lose.
Wed 07/06/17 21h45 Ilha do Retiro
Sport Recife 2 - 0 Flamengo
Osvaldo 56'
Thomas 84'
Another title favorite with a bad streak is Flamengo, who's now 7 points away from the lead. Awful game by Alex Muralha, giving the ball to Osvaldo to score the first goal. Those Julio Cesar rumors are about to get stronger.
Also, 87 IS SPORT'S.
Wed 07/06/17 21h45 São Januário
Vasco da Gama 2 - 5 Corinthians
3' Marquinhos Gabriel
39'
Luís Fabiano 46'
Luís Fabiano 48'
58' Maycon
84' Clayton
90'+2 Clayton
Imagine being a Vasco fan. Imagine going to the stadium for a 10PM game on a weekday, seeing your team getting trashed in the first half, geting your hopes restored by Luís Fabiano (who has now scored 13 games against Corinthians in his career, btw), just to have it crushed again near the end of the game. You start protest chants towards the directors. You're confronted by other Vasco fans about it and a brawl starts. The cops arrive and PEPPER SPRAY EVERYONE.
You get home 2AM after getting pepper sprayed and seeing your team getting destroyed at home, but you gotta wake up at 6 for your job at 8 because it was a wednesday. This is the kind of stuff people write greentexts about. I love when Vasco gives me material to mock them.
Thu 08/06/17 19h30 Morumbi
São Paulo 2 - 0 Vitória
Thomaz 64'
L. Pratto 90'+3
Thomaz scores with an assist by Pratto. Pratto scores with an assist by Thomaz. Ceni is getting a bit safer on its job now.
Thu 08/06/17 19h30 Estádio Olímpico
Atlético Goianiense 3 - 0 Ponte Preta
Everaldo 37'
Everaldo (PG) 45'
Luiz Fernando 77'
NOW THAT THE DRAGON GOT ITS FIRST WIN, IT'S NOW GOING ALL THE WAY! HOP IN ON THE BANDWAGON WHILE YOU STILL CAN.
Yes, the third goal was waaay too offside, but who cares.
Thu 08/06/17 20h Arena Condá
Chapecoense 3 - 6 Grêmio
21' Michel
27' Michel
Luiz Antonio 34'
60'Everton
61'Everton
Reinaldo (PG) 73'
81' Everton
Arthur 90'
90'+1 Luan
A GOAL FROM THE MIDFIELD LINE, A HALF-TIME SUBSTITUITON SCORING A HATTRICK, A GUY DOING FOUR ASSISTS, AND A TOTAL OF NINE GOALS! Boy, this game had it all.
Thu 08/06/17 21h Fonte Nova
Bahia 1 - 0 Cruzeiro
Edigar Junio 18'
Last monday I talked a bit about how Cruzeiro's supporters are being a bit too harsh with Mano Menezes, but after another loss like this one, the unhappy side of the fanbase is starting to grow again. If Cruzeiro somehow loses to Atlético Goianiense sunday at home, people will start to call for Menezes' head. Yes, being down a man for almost ten minutes was critical to this loss, but still.

Extra Stuff

One goal and four assists gave Luan 29.9pts and the week's Cartola MVP award. Other 2 Grêmio players are also in the top 5: Everton (24.7pts) and Michel (19pts). Here's the best players of the fixture.
Who didn't had the same luck was Chapecoense's goalkeeper Jandrei. Six goals against took him to -9pts and he was the worst player this fixture. Here's the rest of the worst.

64' - A cross from the right for Boro gives Negredo a free header, but his header is straight at De Gea.

74' - Downing crosses the ball from the left, Gestede gets up but misses it, Negredo wheels off at the back post, but he can't reach it either.
77' - GOAL BORO! Some shocking defending from United as they fail to clear the ball. A cross in from the left bounces around after Jones' clearance comes back into the box. Smalling tries to clear the ball, but it hits his leg and falls into Gestede's path and he slots home, under De Gea. via u/gemifra
80' - Jesse Lingard is replaced by Anthony Martial 2/3
88' - Negredo nutmegs Smalling and then tussles with Jones to try and get through on goal. They both go down, and Negredo's shot from the floor goes behind for a goal kick.

2016.11.12 13:35 Honka_Honka [OC] This week Neymar scored his 50th international goal for Brazil. At 24 years and 278 days, it took him just 74 games to reach the milestone. Was it as early as it sounds? Here's a comparison between Neymar and every other player who've reached 50 international goals in recent years

With his goal in the 3-0 win against Argentina, Neymar has now 50 goals in 74 matches for the Brazilian national team. He's only the 4th Brazilian in history to score at least 50 times for the Seleção: the others being Pelé (77), fat Ronaldo (62), and Romário (55). Neymar is one of the youngest ever to score 50 goals, but he has an unusual high amount of international caps for someone his age. A better comparison is the total amount of games until the 50th goal. So, how does Neymar compare to other guys in his generation?
I took the time to research the total amount of games and the age of every other player who've reached 50 international goals in recent years.
Please note: I only considered players with 50+ goals (obviously) and who were still active internationally after Neymar's debut for the Brazilian national team (mid-2010).

Here's the full table, starting from the least amount of games needed to score 50 times

Player Date Game (Competition) Cap # Age at the time
Stern John (Trinidad & Tobago)* 13-06-2004 T&T 2-0 Dominican Rep. (WC Qualif.) 65 27 Y, 227 D
Ali Ashfaq (Maldives) 06-09-2016 Maldives 4-0 Laos (Asian Cup Qualif.) 73 31 Y, 0 D
Neymar (Brazil) 10-11-2016 Brazil 3-0 Argentina (WC Qualif.) 74 24 Y, 278 D
Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast) 13-01-2012 Ivory Coast 2-0 Tunisia (Friendly) 77 33 Y, 308 D
David Villa (Spain) 11-10-2011 Spain 3-1 Scotland (Euro Qualif.) 80 29 Y, 342 D
Sunil Chhetri (India) 31-12-2015 India 3-2 Maldives (SAFF Cup) 87 31 Y, 150 D
Miroslav Klose (Germany) 27-06-2010 Germany 4-1 England (World Cup) 99 32 Y, 18 D
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden) 04-09-2014 Sweden 2-0 Estonia (Friendly) 99 33 Y, 336 D
Carlos Ruiz (Guatemala) 15-08-2012 Guatemala 3-3 Paraguay (Friendly) 100 32 Y, 335 D
Robin van Persie (Netherlands) 13-10-2015 Netherlands 2-3 Czech Rep. (EC Qualif.) 101 32 Y, 68 D
Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon) 03-09-2011 Cameroon 5-0 Mauritius (African Cup Qualif.) 106 30 Y, 177 D
Lionel Messi (Argentina) 29-03-2016 Argentina 2-0 Bolivia (WC Qualif.) 107 28 Y, 249 D
Wayne Rooney (England) 08-09-2015 England 2-0 Switzerland (EC Qualif.) 107 29 Y, 319 D
Robbie Keane (Ireland) 04-06-2011 Ireland 2-0 Macedonia (EC Qualif.) 108 30 Y, 331 D
Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) 26-06-2014 Portugal 2-1 Ghana (World Cup) 114 29 Y, 142 D
Younis Mahmoud (Iraq) 05-03-2014 Iraq 3-1 China (Asian Cup Qualif.) 125 31 Y, 30 D

Landon Donovan (USA) 05-07-2013 USA 6-0 Guatemala (Friendly) 145 31 Y, 123 D

Bonus

The same kind of list, but comparing Neymar with the other 3 Brazilians who scored 50+ goals.
Player Date Game (Competition) Cap # Age at the time
Pelé 04-07-1965 Brazil 3-0 Soviet Union (Friendly) 49 24 Y, 254 D
